Adarsh Malhotra

Chief Operating Officer

Adarsh has been associated with The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. for 16 years, with experience spanning both direct insurance and reinsurance. He spent his early years across multiple lines of direct insurance before moving into reinsurance, where he worked for 13 years with global markets.  He has been leading New India’s NZ operations since April 2025, focusing on strengthening the company’s market presence and partnerships.

Raj Parikh

General Manager

Raj began his insurance career with New India Assurance in Baroda, India in January 1978 and acquired professional qualifications working in Underwriting and Claims departments. Later, he worked in Dubai, Muscat, Middle East and Tanzania, East Africa for 17 years in Management positions with leading insurance companies. He joined New India Assurance, Auckland Branch in September 2005 and since then he has been instrumental in development and growth of business for our branch operations. He has developed and sustained an excellent network of intermediaries / brokers all over New Zealand.

Shenam Lata

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Head of Accounts, Auckland

Shenam Lata is a seasoned finance professional with over 13 years of experience in accounting and insurance underwriting. Shenam began her career with The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. Fiji, in 2011 as an Underwriting Insurance Officer. In 2020, Shenam transitioned to the Auckland branch of The New India Assurance Co. Ltd., where she currently serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of Accounts, leading the branch’s accounting and finance functions.

Santhi Ravuri

Underwriting & IT Officer

Santhi is detail-oriented underwriting analyst experienced in end-to-end policy lifecycle management, looks after premium & bordereaux reconciliations, premium & claims data analysis and system support, with a strong focus on managing complex datasets, system enhancements, audit compliance, data integrity and reporting accuracy.

Rupa Mudundi

Underwriting and Claims Assistant

Rupa supports underwriting and claims operations by assisting in claim registration, policy coverage verification, and end-to-end processing of motor claims under guidance. Responsible for accurate claim payment processing, invoice validation, and maintaining detailed claim records. Prepares claims reports, process claim payments and tracking recoveries. Ensures compliance with internal processes and audit requirements. Provides timely support to stakeholders by responding to queries and coordinating with insurers, brokers, and assessors to ensure efficient claims handling

Ankur Shah

Underwriting Assistant

Ankur is with NIA Auckland Branch for over two years. As an Underwriting Assistant, he provides essential administrative and technical support to underwriters, helping streamline the risk assessment process for both new and renewal policies. Responsible for gathering and processing accurate data, document management, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirement

Anshul Singhal

Accounts and Credit Control Assistant

Anshul with a solid understanding of premium accounting, broker accounts, and credit control procedures maintains accurate financial records, manages aged debt and ensures compliance with regulatory and internal controls. A team player and a smart learner.
